      How this works

The short version of everything this tool does.

      list

      The list

Everything is stored here permanently and ordered by date, newest first. You never place an item by hand.

      edit

      Editing

Double-click a news item, or use its Edit button. The form opens where the item sits. After saving it slides to wherever its date belongs.

      event

      Dates you aren’t sure about

Switch the date to Approximate and write it however it should read. The wording is kept exactly as typed; only the sort position is worked out — “late” lands near the end of the month, “mid” around the middle, and a range on its first day.

      content_copy

      Copying HTML

Click a news item to select it, or use its Copy button for that one card. Select several to copy them together. “Update In the News page” gives you the whole page, year headings included.

      delete

      Deleting

Deleted items move to Recently deleted in the sidebar and can be restored for 30 days, after which they are cleared automatically. You can also delete one for good from that list.

      table

      CSV

Export downloads the whole list — a good backup to keep elsewhere. Import reads the same format back, and asks what to do about titles that already exist.
